Manila, 16 November (IANS). An earthquake measuring 6 Richter scale was felt on Monday in Surigao del Sur province of the Philippines. This was confirmed by the authorities.
The Philippine Institute of Seismology and Volcanology (Phivolcus) said the offshore earthquake tremors were felt at 6.37 am, with the epicenter at a depth of 33 km 29 km southeast of the city of San Agustin, reports the newspaper Sinhua.
He said that damage is being feared due to the earthquake. No loss of life or property has been reported so far.
The Philippines often has seismic activity due to its location along the Pacific Ring of Fire.
