Shimla, Nov 16 (IANS) Manali and Himachal Pradesh tourist destinations Kufri and Narkanda near Shimla experienced the first snowfall of the season on Monday. Due to the snow cover, the view there became very beautiful.
The timely snowfall has brought a smile on the faces of hoteliers.
The residents of Shimla felt the shivering cold overnight due to icy winds. There was a drop in the minimum temperature due to rain.
This is the first snowfall of the season in Manali, Kufri, Narkanda and Kharapathar.
An official of the Meteorological Department here told IANS that, the hills of Manali region also received moderate snowfall.
He said that Kalpa, located about 250 km from here, has also received snowfall.
He said, snowfall in Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba, Mandi, Kullu and Kinnaur districts have been snowing since Sunday.
According to hotel owners, tourists will start visiting Manali and the surrounding hills and Kufri, which is located just 15 km from Shimla and Narkanda, as soon as the snowfall in the plains is reported.
Other hill stations Dharamshala, Nahan, Chamba, Dalhousie and Mandi received rains.
