Srinagar, 16 November (IANS). The Jammu and Kashmir administration has registered 2.4 lakh workers associated with building and other construction works so that they can be given social benefits to tackle the Kovid-19 epidemic.
According to government sources, 70 crore rupees were distributed under welfare schemes to registered workers on the instructions of Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha. Apart from this, many other schemes have also been approved for them, including giving assistance in marriage.
The source said that under this, registered workers will be able to get assistance of Rs 25,000 for their marriage and for the marriage of their dependent daughter. About 1.45 lakh workers will be eligible to receive this benefit.
At the same time, transport workers who have gone into the construction sector due to the epidemic will get financial assistance of Rs 1,000 every month for the next 6 months from the month of November. An estimated one lakh drivers, conductors and transport workers will benefit from the scheme.
Explain that all welfare schemes have been put online to ensure transparency. Also, a portal has been prepared to directly transfer this benefit. This will benefit about 2.98 lakh workers.
In order to give benefits of the schemes, the Department of Labor has been directed to make rules under various provisions of the four labor codes.
