On Monday, the Presidency’s acting spokesman Tyron Seal said, the leaders will focus on strengthening political and security, economic and finance, social, and people-to-people cooperation, according to the news agency Xinhua.

She added that BRICS leaders will receive reports from BRICS National Security Advisors, BRICS Business Council, New Development Bank, BRICS Interbank Cooperation Mechanism and BRICS Women’s Business Alliance.

The five major emerging countries in the BRICS include Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, representing approximately 42 percent of the global population, 23 percent of the global GDP, 30 percent of the world region, and 18 percent of global trade. .
