Cooch Behar (West Bengal), 18 November (IANS). A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker was killed and two others injured in a clash in Cooch Behar district of West Bengal on Wednesday.
The incident took place near East Shikarpur in Nakatigachh under the Stormganj Police Station. Here two club members clashed with each other to continue the Kali Puja ceremony.
So far one person has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Sources said that the victim has been identified as BJP activist Kalchand Karmakar.
BJP’s Cooch Behar District General Secretary Sanjay Chakraborty alleged that the worker was killed by Trinamool-backed miscreants.
Senior Trinamool Congress leader Rabindranath Ghosh, however, denied the allegations and said it was nothing but an internal quarrel of the BJP.
