Mumbai, 18 November (IANS) Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh had to learn Marathi for his recent release film Suraj Pe Mangal Bharti and admitted that learning a new language was not an easy task.
He said, what man does not have to do for love. My character had to learn Marathi for his girlfriend and I had to do it for my love of my film. My character speaks Marathi quite often in the film. He is a boy from Bombay, so it is a part of his lore.
He added, “It is always difficult to choose a new language, but it was needed in this film.” It felt authentic. So when my character was to woo Fatima’s character, she used cute Marathi lines. Those scenes are a bit heartwarming. It is a pleasure to see the hard work done to bring the character to life on screen.
The comedy drama directed by Abhishek Sharma released on 15 November. This is the first new Bollywood release after the theaters reopened after a long break due to the Kovid-19 lockdown.
Diljit tweeted and thanked the fans who decided to watch the film during the epidemic.
