Islamabad, 19 November (IANS). Travelers will no longer receive hot beverages on domestic and international flights to Pakistan. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has stopped serving hot beverages in domestic and international flights to limit interaction between passengers and crew due to the Kovid-19 epidemic.
A PIA spokesperson said on Wednesday that the move was part of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) aimed at stopping the spread of the virus, Dawn News reported. He said that now passengers on domestic flights will be given pre-packaged boxes with cold drinks instead of tea or coffee.
According to sources, the CEO of PIA had approved the change in the new food service to be implemented from Monday. As part of the changes, items served in trays inside the flight have been immediately stopped in all areas.
