Punjab: Amarinder’s son appeared before ED, got statement recorded

Chandigarh, 19 November (IANS). Raninder Singh, son of Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, recorded his statement under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) on Thursday at the office of the Directorate of Emigration (ED) in Jalandhar. Earlier, the ED had asked him to appear before himself twice, but Raninder could not appear before this financial agency.

The officer said, his statement has been recorded.

Raninder Singh had earlier denied any wrongdoing.

The investigation is related to the Findings of the Income Tax Department. Under which some assets acquired abroad in 2005-07 were not disclosed.
