New Delhi, 19 November (IANS). Tamil superstar Surya believes that films should go beyond entertainment and also provide hope and inspiration. He is looking for stories that inspire.
Though till now he has acted in only one Bollywood film Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakta Charitra 2, but as an audience he watches a lot of Bollywood films.
“You have a special place in films like Neerja, Padman, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Manjhi,” Surya told IANS. These films not only tell stories, but also arouse hope and inspire. They show how strong our people are.
He further said, I have done films like Singham and Ghajini and I like them very much. But for me the films must be entertaining as well as influential. Something that you can learn, that you can keep, consider them. I think that in addition to entertainment, the conclusions drawn from films are also important. Something that helps you think or change your faith. I love such experiences.
He added, “Sometimes we got such reactions that families who had not talked to each other for 10 years were united after watching a film.” Such films are timeless.
His recently released film Soorai Potru has been praised by many for its inspiring story. The low cost film is associated with the life of GR Gopinath, the founder of the airline Air Deccan.
The film is available on Amazon Prime Video.
