Washington, November 20 (IANS). The victory of elected President Joe Biden in the US state of Georgia is sealed. The State Secretary Office of Georgia announced this.
Significantly, the votes were counted again after the objection by President Donald Trump’s camp.
According to the news agency Xinhua, an audit of 5 million votes on Thursday found that the former vice president received 12,284 more votes than President Donald Trump in the traditional Republican stronghold. Again the counting of votes was done manually.
Every single vote was touched and counted by a human audit team, said Georgia voting system implementation manager Gabriel Sturlig.
He said, of course, that the audit confirms the original result of the election, that is, Joe Biden has won the presidential election in the state of Georgia.
Stirligne said there was no difference in the counting margin of any person to more than 0.73 percent, and that in 103 of the state’s 159 counties, the margin difference was less than 0.05 percent.
On November 7 in the US presidential election, Biden had declared victory.
However, Trump has not conceded defeat and has challenged the court alleging rigging in the vote.
Electoral college representatives will meet six days later on December 14 to formally select the next US president.
