Bengaluru, 21 November (IANS). Chief Minister of Karnataka B.S. Despite Yeddyurappa’s warning, several pro-Kannada activists and organizations led by Kannada Chaluvali Vatsal Paksha Supremo Vatal Nagraj have called for a statewide bandh on 5 December, condemning the state government’s decision to form the Maratha Community Development Board.
At least a dozen pro-Kannada activists, including renowned filmmaker and head of the Rajkumar Fans Association. Govindu is also involved, they met on Friday and passed a unanimous resolution that they will proceed with the Bharat Bandh on 5 December.
Nagraj said after the meeting, we are coming under a banner – Federation of Kannada Association – to call for a statewide bandh on 5 December.
Talking to reporters, Nagaraj said that the Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha has already received the support of more than 1,000 pro-Kannada organizations across the state.
