Gandhinagar, 20 November (IANS). The Gujarat government has taken a U-turn on the decision to reopen schools, colleges and universities as Corona cases are rising in the state.
Also, the government has also decided to impose a night curfew in the state’s financial capital, Ahmedabad from 9 am to 6 am. The state government said on Thursday night that the decision to reopen schools and colleges has been postponed.
Let us know that the number of coronavirus cases has increased rapidly after the festival of Diwali, especially in Ahmedabad. Therefore, the government, after deliberating on 11 November, gave instructions in this regard, while deciding to reopen schools, colleges and universities from 23 November.
Education Minister Bhupendra Singh Chudasama had earlier talked about opening educational institutions in a phased manner. Also, instructions were given to continue online education. However, no decision was taken on reopening primary schools. The government had said that it would take further decisions after analyzing the reaction to the implementation of the November 11 decision.
The government’s move was severely criticized by the public and now the government has to cancel its decision.
