Lucknow, 21 November (IANS). Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s campaign is bringing color in making Uttar Pradesh a leading state. There are 275 food processing units in the state producing on the ground. In this, private capital investment of 27 hundred 56 crores has been done. In addition, 41 thousand 253 people have got direct and indirect employment opportunities in these factories. There were 604 MoUs for setting up of food processing industry at Investor Summit.

There was a total private capital investment of 3210.70 crore. This would provide employment to 46 thousand 669 people. It was approved to set up 275 industries, which are now producing on the ground.

Most of these units have been established at the village level and as micro units. New policy liked by entrepreneurs Uttar Pradesh Food Processing Industries Policy 2017 has proved to be the most effective weapon in putting these units on the ground. Under this, the government has given a subsidy of about Rs 51 crore to these units in the last three years.

Principal Secretary Horticulture Manoj Singh said that due to food processing policy, a large number of investments are coming in the state and employment opportunities are also available to the people. Our effort is that more and more people come forward for their own business and become self-sufficient. The government provides 25% of the project cast subsidy. Under this scheme, the government also reimburses the interest on bank loans to micro and small units for five years. Medium and large scale units are given a maximum reimbursement of up to 50 lakhs of interest on bank loans at seven per cent or whichever is less. Capital subsidy is 25% of the project cast i.e. 50 lakhs from the government.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) 22 out of 25 applications were approved. It had a capital investment of 160 crores and employed 1546 people.
